Tomorrow after work I'm off for the rolling hills of Iowa. Dennis is taking me down to Denver's Union Station, and I'm hopping Amtrak's eastbound California Zephyr.
The round trip ticket was just over $200--half as much as an airplane and comparable to gassing up the car. Though it's the same amount of time as driving, the pluses are that I don't have to drive and I can sleep for part of the trip out.
And hooray for my first train ride.
